Progress update — May 2026
We're taking practical, community-led steps to bring NNEST to life — and we're doing it in the open.
We're being built in the open. Where things stand as of 5 May 2026:
- Done — more than 18 months of community engagement
- Done — working group formed
- Done — inaugural meeting held and committee elected (30 April 2026)
- Done — Model Rules adopted as our constitution
- Done — incorporation paperwork lodged with Consumer Affairs Victoria
- In progress — first funding applications in preparation
- In progress — letters of support
- Next phase — Library site (Stage 1) activation
- Next phase — first programs delivered
- Long-term aspiration — former school site activation
