Welcome to NNEST
Rooted in Noojee. Growing connection through nature, knowledge and nurture.
Stand at the midpoint of a forest trail and you are between two things at once — the history behind you and the possibility ahead. That is where Noojee is right now, and it is where NNEST begins.
What NNEST is
NNEST (Noojee Environment, Nature, Sustainable Tourism) is a people-led initiative to create a dedicated place where we can learn with nature and one another. Education in its broadest form — forest paths, garden beds, craft benches, microscopes, and stories.
What we're creating
- Reading and quiet time along forest trails
- Nature observation, sketching and photography
- Honouring the district's forestry heritage
- Gardening and land care
- Crafting with natural materials — woodworking, clay, weaving, lapidary
- Natural sciences for all ages
- Nature-based therapeutic practices — forest therapy, horticultural therapy, sensory immersion
- Skill and story sharing between generations
A simple belief at the heart of it
Everyone holds a piece of knowledge worth preserving.
What it could become
The old school grounds could grow into a living learning hub: environmental education, creative and practical skills, community wellbeing, sensory and experiential learning, intergenerational knowledge-sharing, and respectful connection with the land.
How you can help
Like and share our updates, tell a friend, or write to us with what you would teach, learn or love to see. Get involved.
Every layer of an ecosystem matters. Not everyone's a tall tree — some of us are mushrooms, and that's magic in its own way.
